Mayor Bloomberg and Lady Gaga pushed the button for the ball dropping at Times Square. Cross Roads of the World was lined with people wearing party hats and 2012 New Year's Eve glasses swaying balloons to the music. Some of the entertainers were Justin Bieber, Carlos Santana, Cee-Lo and Dick Clark introducing Lady Gaga with Mayor Bloomberg. 2011-2012 New Years Eve Times Square was co-hosted by Ryan Seacrest as he has done since 2005 since Dick Clark has limited his appearances after health problems.
Times Square Alliance along with New York’s finest did an amazing job of keeping a huge crowd safe and a well executed schedule to maintain a timely fashion to dropping of the ball at midnight. Waterford crystal triangles made up the ball that has evolved into the digital world for 88 percent more efficiency since the tradition began in 1907.
